The trees have started to blossom with new growth, and our beloved Texas Bluebonnets are in full bloom.
I have always been a fan of the springtime and enjoy the physical evidence of natures rebirth, and observing the cycles of the season has taught me a lot about working with the skin. As a result, I enjoy working in accordance with the change of seasons and recognize that with the arrival of springtime comes the time to take a close look at our daily skin care rituals; and readjust for the new season.
As a basic principal, spring is a time for renewal whereas the winter is a time to focus on balance and healing.

Below are 3 steps to achieve brighter, more radiant skin this spring season:

  1. Regenerate new healthy skin by increasing the frequency of more assertive treatments such as chemical peels (for skin resurfacing), Fraxel Laser Resurfacing (for smoothing of stagnant lines and a pore-less complexion), Microtherapy (for increased plumpness and a more even skin color).
  2. Add a Retinoid to your weekly regimen. I love the Veritas A3 BioRetinoid-A Creme...It performs closest to a prescrition strength retinod such as Retin-A, but doesn't contain nasty ingredients that may cause long term side effects. The benefit is increased skin radiance and a rejuvenation of your own natural collagen, for skin that is more plump and smooth. Simply apply the A3 BioRetinoid-A Creme to the skin 3 days in a row for 2 days of light superficial rejuvenation.
  3. Stock up on a physical sun block to protect your skin from UV damage. Honour Ultimate DNA Defense SPF 30 should be worn daily (under makeup or alone), and provides the highest form of natural protection (zinc oxide) against solar damage, environmental aging and DNA damage.
